How to Connect your PC to TV with ease

Step 1 – Connect the Laptop to Your Network

First connect your new laptop to the wireless network in your home. The internal connection will search for networks in the area and identify yours. Connect to it.

Step 2 – Open the Windows Media Player

On your laptop, open the digital media player, usually the Windows Media Player. If you haven’t done so yet, you may need to have the latest version of the digital media player on your laptop. Then, select the “Library” on the menu. Look for the box that says, “Share” and be sure it has a check next to it.

Step 3 – Get Your System Ready

Now, head over to your PS3 system. Turn it on and open the menu screen. In the menu, select “Settings” from the list. Then, click on “Network Settings” in this area. This will bring up another set of options. From that, click “Internet Connection.” You need to be sure this connection is on.

Now you need to connect your PS3 to the wireless network. To do this, go under the tab labeled “Wireless Connection” and choose to scan for networks automatically. Choose the same wireless network your laptop is connected to. You may need to add a code or password to allow this connection to take place. If so, the code is the one you set for your home’s wireless network.

Step 5 – Get Your Files

You’ve done most of the hard work to this point. To gain access to the files on the laptop, including your music, photos and videos, open the PS3 menu. Then, scroll down to the tab associated with the type of content you want to open on the laptop, such as videos. You can then choose the option, “Scan for Media Server.” It will search your laptop for the files and folders available. All you need to do then is to choose what you want to view and it will display on your TV.

Once you’ve downloaded the files you want to watch on the TV to your laptop, you can create this connection and use it for virtually anything you want. Compatibility of browsers

Mega guarantees that you can use any browser, as long as it runs on JavaScript. It was disappointing, when we never found it that way. While using the Internet Explorer 10, the default Windows 8 browser, we had an issue of frequent freeze-ups after every 100 MB of uploads.

For better results, Mega recommends Chrome. But, even with Chrome we faced the same problem. It often locked up. Good thing is–if you don’t close the browser session, you can restart the disconnected uploads or downloads.

Uploading & sharing of files and folders

Both file and folder can be uploaded or downloaded. Also, the uploading and downloading can take place simultaneously. Unlike the more advanced cloud services, such as Dropbox, the files or folders will not sync with the file system of your computer. If you want to access those files, you have to access them through a web browser. Whether you upload or download a file, be ready for long waits.

Sharing could be a problem even with other Mega accounts. We have tried sharing files with other Mega accounts. Although the files can be viewed by the intended accounts, but they cannot access them, even after hours of landing of those files on the Mega accounts.

Remember the Password, or else you will be out of luck!

Encryption takes place in the web browser, and then your encrypted files are loaded onto Mega Servers. Your Mega account’s password is also, your ‘Master Encryption key’.

Do remember a fact that Mega doesn’t provide any account recovery process, as the company doesn’t keep the encryption key. This clearly means that if you do not happen to remember your password, you lose the control of your account very easily.
